The Versailles Planter Box was designed in 1670 by Andre Le Notre, chief gardener for Louis XVI at Versailles to protect and ensure the survival of delicate and exotic fruit trees at the palace. These celebrated oak planter boxes are still being produced by Jardin du Roi Soliel and certified authentic by the “Establissement Public du Chateau de Versailles”; they continue to grace elegant gardens throughout Europe and around the world.
