Why do I need to seal my terracotta pots?
We recommend sealing Greek terracotta, French Anduze and American concrete pottery. Terrecotte San Rocco terra cotta pottery does not require sealing. Sealing your pottery will promote a longer life by preventing expansion and contraction by absorption and dehydration.
What is the white substance that has appeared on the surface of my pot/fountain and how can I eliminate it?
The white substance is caused by minerals leaching from the water through the concrete or terracotta. A soft cloth or brush can be used to wipe the deposits from your items.
What is the best way to keep my fountain clean?
Change the water often, and use a soft brush or cloth. There are products available to add to the water to prevent algae from forming and to keep your fountain clean. Distilled white vinegar is an alternative solution.
What chemicals should NOT be used in my fountain?
Never use chlorine or bleach as an algaecide or cleaner. They will cause damage to your pump and fountain surfaces.
