Not only is Eye of the Day bringing its show to the Stanford Shopping Center with its signature collection of pottery and garden ornaments from around the world, but we have invited a number of speakers for each weekend from June 14 to July 14. On Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 our guest will be Rebecca Sweet, from Northern California’s Harmony In The Garden. She is a garden designer, author, speaker and a lifelong gardener who is passionate about design, plants and beautiful spaces. Rebecca’s signature “California Fusion” style blends the personal desires of her clients with regionally appropriate plants and California natives, resulting in gardens that are layered, lush and environmentally friendly. Her gardens have been featured in Sunset, Fine Gardening, Horticulture, Woman’s Day, American Gardener, and Country Almanac as well as regional newspapers and publications. Rebecca has also been a radio guest on GardenLife and Martha Stewart Living and has been featured on the critically acclaimed PBS series Growing a Greener World. In addition, Rebecca has written Garden Up! Smart Vertical Gardening for Small and Large Spaces, an Amazon bestseller.
On Friday, July 12 Rebecca’s presentation will emphasize Eye of the Day pottery in “Wake Your Weary Garden – Using Color, Texture & Form”. With emphasis on creative uses of containers, Rebecca Sweet will help you discover the art of weaving together the basic design principles of color, texture and form to transform your garden into a rich and layered tapestry.
Her presentation on Saturday will be “Garden Up! Smart Vertical Gardening for Small and Large Spaces”. Rebecca will highlight a range of vertical gardening ideas (many found throughout Stanford Shopping Center); from innovative ways to use trellises to the best living wall systems for home gardeners using creative layering techniques for the skinniest of areas. We can’t wait!
